Weather 1-14-22

A ridge of high pressure along the coast is keeping the region under a dry Northwest flow. It is expected to bring generally benign weather for the Inland Northwest today right through Monday before a series of storm systems moves through our area next week. The main concern is overnight fog and below freezing temperatures creating icy conditions for untreated surfaces during the morning hours.

Northcentral Washington weather today through Sunday calling for mostly cloudy skies, calm wind and afternoon highs in the lower 30’s.

Weather models are in agreement that we will see a re-amplification of the upper level ridge on Sunday as a weak upper level system moves into the Gulf of Alaska.

On Monday, we will continue to see mostly cloudy skies but warmer temperatures with afternoon highs in the mid-30’s.

Our ridge of high pressure flattens on Tuesday allowing a series of weak weather systems to move into our area. Forecast for Tuesday through Thursday will be mostly cloudy and warmer with a 30% chance of rain, rain mixed with snow and possibly freezing rain with afternoon high temperatures in the upper 30’s.
