Exotic cars busted for speeding en route to rally in Spokane

Washington State Troopers made several traffic stops yesterday along I-90 involving exotic sports cars. Trooper Brian Moore says the vehicles were participating in a rally from California to Wyoming.

“Roughly ten exotic cars yesterday along I-90 that were all in the 100 mph range,” Moore said. “One in particular was a lime green colored Lamborghini, that vehicle was stopped twice in a span of about 30 minutes, both travelling at 100 mph. The second time the trooper felt the vehicle needed to be impounded.”

The driver received a criminal citation for reckless driving, which is more than a standard speeding ticket. The citation is a misdemeanor while the standard speeding ticket is an infraction.

The Gold Rush Rally started in Beverly Hills, Ca. From there they drove to Seattle and ended in Jackson Hole Wyoming.

Trooper Moore says one of the cars, a Bugatti, reportedly retails for $2.6 million.
