LEAVENWORTH — An Everett climber who fell during a Sunday excursion on Mount Stuart was rescued by helicopter.

Nolan Anderson, 26, took a fall in the Cascadian Couloir climbing route on the south face of the mountain and suffered an apparent broken leg. His partner called rescue agencies about 11:45 a.m., and a hoist helicopter from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island was soon on the scene.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Chief of Special Operations said Anderson was flown directly to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition was not immediately available this morning.
