Ephrata woman involved in head-on crash dies from her injuries

A 72-year-old Ephrata woman has died from injuries she sustained in a head-on vehicle accident earlier this month.

Lee O. Hampton died Aug. 18 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Hampton was driving south on Highway 17 north of Moses Lake on Aug. 4 when her 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2018 Toyota RAV4 being driven by Gregory Lisewych, 39, of Wenatchee.

Lisewych was treated for his injuries at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

The State Patrol says the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Hampton was not wearing a seat belt and Lisewych was, the State Patrol said.
