In a recent report to a Wenatchee Valley College Advisory Committee, State Regional Labor Economist Don Meseck said the labor force in Chelan and Douglas Counties rose dramatically in the time period 2007 to 2017. Total covered employment in Chelan County over the ten-year period rose just over 11 percent at 4,473 new workers. Between 2016 and 2017, there were 650 more workers, a 1.5 percent upturn.
Meanwhile in Douglas County, those numbers are even higher. Between 2007 and 2017, total covered employment rose from 10,645 jobs to 12,653, an 18.9 percent upturn.
