Flavio and Johan Espinoza Lead Eastmont to Win

WENATCHEE, WA – The Eastmont Wildcats advanced to the next round of the State 4A Boys Soccer Tournament with a narrow 2-1 win over Walla Walla last night at Lee Bofto Field at the Apple Bowl. The Blue Devils scored first early in the first half. Flahvio Espinoza would tie it on a penalty kick late in the half and it would remain tied at 1-1 at the break. Johan Espinoza would score the game-winner in a rough and tumble second half in the 67th minute.

To the highlights we go with Sebastian Moraga and Matt Wisen as seen here last night on the NCWLIFE Channel…

So Eastmont advances to face Mt. Vernon Saturday at 1 o’clock in the Apple Bowl in the State Quarterfinals.

Wenatchee Wild Face Wellington Today at RBC Cup

North of the border in beautiful British Columbia…
RBC CUP
There was yet another overtime game last night in the Royal Bank of Canada Cup as Ottawa came from behind to beat Steinbach 5-4. So the standings heading into today have Wenatchee on top with 7-points. Chilliwack and Ottawa each have 6-points and the Junior Senators are done and have locked down the #3 seed for Saturday. Wellington is in 4th with 3-points and Steinbach last with 2-points…

Wenatchee plays its final game in round robin play today at 2 against the Wellington Dukes. A Wild win and they lock down the #1 seed heading into Saturday’s semifinal. According to the math done by our friend Arch Ecker, there are 16 scenarios of where the Wild will finish and 13 of them have Wenatchee the #1 seed. Chilliwack is the only other team that could bump Wenatchee from the top spot. How it works on Saturday is the #1 seed plays the #4 seed and the #2 and #3 seeds face off. The winners will play Sunday at 4 for the RBC Cup Championship.

Bartolo Colon Shuts Mariners Bats Down in Texas Win

The Mariners were on Facebook yesterday! Yep, Major League Baseball has a deal with Facebook Watch and is putting various games on Facebook so fans can watch for free. Let’s go and watch ourselves as Seattle hosted Texas in a day game at Safeco Field…
MARINERS
So, maybe Seattle would rather NOT be on Facebook as Texas scores 4 in the 9th to take a 5-1 win. Kyle Seager smacked a solo home run in the bottom of the 9th. But how about the spot start for Christian Bergman! He goes 7 allowing no runs on 2-hits! Detroit comes to town to start a 4-game weekend series tonight.
