EAST WENATCHEE, WA – It’s homecoming week for the Eastmont Wildcats as they host the West Valley Rams tonight at Wildcat Field. Our intrepid reporter Eric Granstrom made his way to practice yesterday and interviewed SECURITY…a.k.a. the offensive line!


The big news for Eastmont is that they’ll be starting backup quarterback Carson Everhart. Coach Michael Don says Caelen Massey will move out to a wing-back to provide some offensive firepower…

Panthers Host Chiefs LIVE on NCWLIFE Channel

The game featured tonight on the NCWLIFE Channel has the Wenatchee Panthers and Moses Lake Chiefs meeting for the 66th time. Coach Scott Devereaux says he’d like to snap Wenatchee’s three-game losing streak to the Chiefs, and it starts on defense…


Wenatchee comes in after shutting out its last two opponents in Mt. Boucherie and Eisenhower. Senior starting linebacker Eamon Haugan says he’s expecting Moses Lake to try to trick the Panthers…

Soccer and Volleyball Results from Last Night

We’ll start off with a wrap up on high school sports from last night with the Les Schwab Scoreboard…
In soccer last night, Wenatchee won big over Eisenhower 6-nil. In fact, it was a night of shutouts as Cashmere blew out Omak 10-nil; Cascade had no trouble with Okanogan 8-nil and Tonasket topped Manson 1-nil.

In volleyball…
Eastmont followed up its win over Wenatchee with a sweep in three games over Sunnyside. Moses Lake handed Wenatchee its second-consecutive loss 3-1. Cascade blanked Okanogan 3-0 and Cashmere got a win at Omak 3-0.

Cascade is on the road at Cheney while Chelan hosts Okanogan and Cashmere’s at Omak in Caribou Trail League play. The B schedule has Manson at Tonasket while Waterville-Mansfield celebrates homecoming with Pateros in town.

Soccer has Wapato hosting Chelan at 1 while Manson takes on Omak at 2.

In volleyball…
Watervillve-Mansfield is at the Quincy Invite. Cascade, Chelan and Wenatchee are in Spokane at Ferris High for the Linda Sheridan Volleyball Classic. And Manson hosts Wilson Creek at Noon.

The Wenatchee cross country team is in Portland at the Portland Christian Invite…
Eastmont is at Franklin Pierce High School for the Sunfair Invite. And in prep swimming and diving, Eastmont and Wenatchee are at the Kamiak Invite tomorrow morning at 9am.

Wenatchee Wild Try to Bounce Back at Vernon and Trail

The Wenatchee Wild continue their swing through British Columbia tonight and tomorrow…
Wenatchee’s in Vernon to take on the Vipers tonight at 7 o’clock. Then tomorrow, they’re in Trail to face the Smoke Eaters at 7 o’clock.

New Turf and Lights for CWU at Tomlinson Field

On the college football slate this weekend…
Eastern Washington hosts Montana State in Big Sky football at Noon. Utah’s in Pullman to face the Cougars at 3 on the PAC-12 Network. Then at 5:30 on FOX, it’s Washington hosting BYU. Finally at 6, under the lights for the first time ever after a 6-million dollar renovation of Tomlinson Field to include artificial turf and lights. Central is hosting West Texas A&M.

Seattle Seahawks Play at Arizona Sunday

The Seahawks are in the desert…
In Glendale, Arizona to be exact to face the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium. Kickoff on FOX is scheduled for 1:05.

Gonzales Great, Mariners Not So Much vs. Texas

Finally, despite a great final outing of the season by Marco Gonzales, the Mariners fell sleepless in Seattle with a 3-0 loss to the Texas Rangers…
Gonzales allowed just 2-hits in 5-innings of shutout ball with 6 strikeouts. Seattle’s offense could only muster three hits off Ariel Jurado and three relievers. Seattle and Texas play again tonight at 7:10 with Martin Perez facing the Mariner’s Wade LeBlanc.
