Eastmont delays school construction

Eastmont School District has delayed several planned building projects after failing to receive any bids.

Superintendent Garn Christensen reports that four new cafeterias and 20 additional classrooms will be built in the project.

The High School baseball field restrooms will also be re-done as part of the project.

Christensen says the District will put them all on hold until next year when they will be put out for rebid.

The constriction is part of the District’s new grade level reconfiguration, at Cascade, Grant, Kenroy, Lee and Rock Island schools.

Funding for the projects comes from a state class-reduction grant and a vote-approve capital levy.
