The East Wenatchee woman who was pulled unconscious from her burning house early Saturday is deceased.

51-year-old Louise Hurst died Tuesday of smoke inhalation, according to the Chelan County Coroner, Wayne Harris.  A neighbor noticed the North James Street house was on fire early Saturday morning and called 911 around 12:40 a.m. The woman was asleep in her bedroom when the blaze began, but was overcome by smoke as she tried to flee.

Douglas County Fire District 2 crews arrived and had entered through the back door to rescue Harris from a hallway, carrying her out to perform CPR. Several animals also died in the fire, including five cats and one dog.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
