East Wenatchee woman is state’s millionth coronavirus vaccine recipient

One Millionth Dose

WENATCHEE — Washington passed a milestone Friday for COVID-19 vaccinations, and it happened right here in the Wenatchee Valley.

Ruby T., a 90-year-old East Wenatchee resident, was the one millionth client in the state to receive her vaccine. Ruby, whose full name wasn’t disclosed, got her inoculation at the Town Toyota Center mass vaccination site Feb. 12. Workers and volunteers at the drive-in clinic put on a small celebration to mark the event.

As part of her recognition, Ruby gets Wenatchee Wild VIP tickets, a lifetime pass on Washington state’s ferry system, and when the Apple Blossom Grand Parade rides again, she’ll have a passenger seat.
