East Wenatchee pursuit suspect sought

The East Wenatchee police need help finding the driver of an off-road vehicle suspected of being involved in a high-speed chase Sunday afternoon.

Officer Joe Hinkle says he was on routine patrol when he observed a quad runner on 3rd Street near Rock Island Road.

Hinkle attempted to stop the driver when he noticed the suspect was not wearing required eye protection.

He says the suspect failed to stop and then sped off and the chase was on.

“We pursued the quad through East Wenatchee and ended up losing sight of it once before seeing the quad again on North Kentucky and the pursuit was engaged again,” Hinkle said.

Hinkle then says sight of the quad was lost again and the pursuit was put to a halt.

“We lost sight of the quad as it was going past Pangborn Field and we terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns,” Hinkle said.

The male suspect was last seen wearing a grey shirt with blue jeans and a silver and green colored helmet.

Hinkle says the suspect vehicle was the type used on sand dune with large “nobby tires.”
