East Wenatchee council considers Wenatchee’s former police chief

EAST WENATCHEE — Wenatchee’s former chief of police could earn more than $10,000 a month as East Wenatchee’s new interim chief.

Tom Robbins retired from the leadership of the Wenatchee force in 2016, after 15 years. New East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford wants Robbins to fill in while her city seeks a replacement for retired Chief Randy Harrison.

The city council is expected to vote tonight on a temporary salary package that would pay Robbins $10,200 a month on a temporary basis. The city also expects to spend $17,500 with a recruitment agency to hire a new chief full-time.

That meeting starts tonight at 6 p.m. at East Wenatchee’s City Hall.
