OMAK – In a news release yesterday, Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers says along with help from the North Central Washington Narcotics Task Force, the Omak Police Department, the U.S. Border Patrol and the Brewster Police Department, 8 people were arrested on various drug charges in the Omak area on Tuesday. Search warrants were issued following a month-long investigation into the distribution of heroin.

After the searches were completed investigators found useable amounts of heroin and methamphetamine, cash and a handgun. Seven of the eight people arrested face either possession or delivery of heroin charges, with four of the suspects charged with delivering the drug in a school zone.
