The driver of the Subaru that crashed into a chain link fence and power pole at Smallwoods Harvest just after noon Monday apparently fell asleep at the wheel, the Washington State Patrol reports.
A fence pole went through the passenger-side windshield after the vehicle left Highway 2 near Peshastin.
Both the driver, 27-year old Ashlee Harvey of Tualatin, Oregon, and 31-year old Joshua Jacobs of Vancouver, were injured and transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Their conditions were not available Tuesday.
Harvey was cited for negligent driving.
