Douglas County PUD Places Moratorium

Douglas County PUD puts a halt to new data center development with a moratorium on new permits for electrical service. Utility spokeswoman, Megan Vibbert says the moratorium will allow the district to review its rate policies to address the increased load demand . .

Douglas County has seen a significant increase in large warehouse data center development, particularly along Grant Road in the area of Pangborn Airport. Chelan County PUD has already put into place new rate policies for so-called large load customers.
