Dog owner expected to plea to lesser charge in attack on woman

A Douglas County man accused in a dog attack last year is likely to plead to a lesser offence in District Court.

Timothy Dale Houston, 63, was charged with the crime of owning a dangerous dog after a Wenatchee woman was severely bitten in January 2020 on Number 2 Canyon Road.

Lawyers this week agreed to strike his planned April 20 trial date, saying the case would be resolved with a non-felony charge in the lower court.

Houston allegedly told police he let his four dogs out of his car while he napped along the roadside, and awoke to find them attacking a woman who was jogging past.

The victim required stitches for multiple bite wounds, including facial injuries. Wenatchee Valley Animal Control seized all four dogs.
