Desert Aire woman arrested for hit-and-run

An arrest has been made in a felony hit-and-run case last week near Desert Aire. The driver ran off, leaving her critically injured passenger behind. Furthermore, 24-year-old Vivian E. Duarte of Desert Aire surrendered to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.

The wreck happened last Thursday at the location of Desert Aire Drive and Oasis Place. A 2001 Ford Focus driven by Duarte failed to negotiate a turn and rolled twice. As a result, the passenger, Mireya Anaya, was ejected from the vehicle and is in critical condition at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
