COVID-19 deaths in Wenatchee Valley now number 19 after Chelan County fatality


EAST WENATCHEE — A Chelan County man in his 60s is the latest known victim of COVID-19.

The Chelan-Douglas Health District reports it’s the 19th catalogued death from the coronavirus in the two-county region, since the pandemic reached Washington early this year. So far 12 Chelan County residents are known to have died from the virus, and seven people from Douglas County.

Health officials continue to encourage wearing facial masks and maintaining six feet of social distance in public. The pandemic has so far claimed more than 1,900 lives in Washington, and 191,000 nationwide.
