Cool and showery weather is expected this week with the arrival of a slow moving low-pressure system from the northwest. Expect one more nice day today with mostly sunny skies this morning and increasing clouds by afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 70’s.
Wednesday has the potential to be our most active weather day with mostly cloudy skies and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce hail, lightning and gusty winds especially over eastern and southeast Washington. Afternoon high temperatures tomorrow in the mid to upper 70’s. There is also a 50% chance of showers Wednesday night with overnight lows in the mid 50’s.
As the area of low pressure slowly moves off to the southeast there is still a good chance for showers and scattered thunderstorms to linger Thursday into Friday before a warming and drying trend arrives over the weekend. There is a 40% chance of showers both days with afternoon high temperatures mainly in the lower to mid-70’s.
By the time we get to the weekend, high pressure will replace low pressure which means nicer weather for both Saturday and Sunday with sunny to mostly sunny skies, light winds and afternoon high temperatures in the upper 70’s Saturday and lower 80’s on Sunday.
Even warmer temperatures for Monday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80’s.
