They’re still cleaning up the the mess from a July 2 rainstorm on South Lakeshore Road on Lake Chelan.

The resulting slide brought tons of mud, rocks and debris down Slide Ridge.

That led to a brief closure of the road, and flagged one-way traffic for several days.

Chelan County has awarded a $130,000 bid to Batchelor Excavation of Manson to remove the remaining debris.

That’s about 8,500 cubic yards of dirt, rock and debris that filled an upper and lower channel at the Slide Ridge site.

County crews have already removed about 3,400 cubic yards of material.

The work includes cleaning out a 72-inch culvert under the roadway.
