Construction has begun on the Port facilities at the old Cashmere Mill Site. The Port of Chelan County bought the property in 2008 and began a 6-point-6-million dollar project to prepare the area for redevelopment. Craig Larsen, Business Development Director for the Port says either one or two 16-thousand square foot buildings should be completed by the end of this year. Larsen says the Port’s ultimate goal is to construct up to four buildings on the 5-point-3 acres at the property. Larsen added that the buildings will be general-purpose facilities open to various types of businesses including production, food processing or specialty beverage production.
The Cashmere Mill site has access to electricity, water, sewer, and phone and Internet service. It is located off of Sunset Highway, a half-mile from Highway 2/97.
