Construction expected to begin on new Wenatchee Fire Station

Construction is expected to get started on Chelan County Fire District One’s new main Wenatchee Fire Station. Chief Brian Brett says the project is scheduled to go out to bid next week.

It’s located on Wenatchee Avenue on property previously occupied by Prospector Pies restaurant. Brett says the new station will replace the historic downtown Wenatchee fire station.

Brett also says they’re hoping to get construction started this summer. At the same time, the fire district is in the process of closing its Maple Street station and moving its operations to the station at Fifth and Western, which is currently being remodeled. He says crews and equipment will be housed there until the new station is completed.
