City of Wenatchee Recycling Event provides free disposal

WENATCHEE – The annual City of Wenatchee Recycling Event is this Saturday, where residents can dispose of unwanted material for free at 1745 S Wenatchee Avenue from 9am – 3pm. Material can include appliances, tv’s and tires.

Yard waste can also be dropped off at 1465 S Wenatchee Avenue.  They accept most yard waste such as tree limbs, branches and grass clippings.  For yard waste, loads are limited to two standard pick-up loads per household.

The event is free to all residents but bring proof of residency with you, personal ID and a utility bill.

The free annual event is sponsored by local groups and businesses; WVC Automotive Technology Club, Stemilt Organic Recycling Center, Wenatchee Valley Salvage & Recycling, The Salvation Army, Les Schwab Tire Center of Wenatchee, and Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center Automotive Technology Program.

The Recycling event gives a list of acceptable and not accepted items:

Automotive batteries, scrap iron, refrigerators, air conditioners, appliances, televisions, laptop, computers and monitors.  Passenger and light truck tires are also accepted for free, until disposal trailers are full.

DO NOT BRING: Propane tanks, pressurized tanks, liquids, paint or aerosols, hazardous materials, mattresses or furniture, florescent bulbs/ballasts, household batteries, printers or peripherals, enclosed barrels or tanks, household garbage.
