City of Wenatchee announces hiring of new executive services director

The city of Wenatchee has hired the former deputy city manager of Fresno, Calif., as its new executive services director.

Laura Merrill, who moved to Wenatchee last year, will start work Feb. 3, according to a press release from the city.

She will replace Allison Williams in the post. Williams was recently hired as the Moses Lake city administrator.

Merrill served as deputy city manager in Fresno for just under two years. She speaks both English and Spanish, the city said.

“Mrs. Merrill takes pride in delivering resources and services to the community including the development of affordable housing, acquisition and disposition of real estate, and negotiating contracts for municipal services,” the press release stated.

In announcing the hire, Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kuntz said Merrill brings experience and vision to the city.
