Chelan will hold town hall to talk about its lake access plan

The city of Chelan, fresh off a vote to purchase 9.8 acres of lakefront property, will hold a town hall to hear from the public about its overall plan to protect and improve lake access.

The Oct. 9 town hall will begin at 5:30 p.m. with an open house at the senior center, followed by a presentation at 6.

City consultant J.A. Brennan and Associates, will be on hand to answer questions about the city’s strategy.

Last week, the City Council voted to move forward with buying almost 10 acres of lakefront property on Spader Bay for $400,000.

At the meeting, most public comment was in opposition to the purchase.
