Chelan will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony April 17 to celebrate the sales of all eight units in the Emerson Village affordable housing development.
The Chelan Valley Housing Trust says all the local buyers purchased the Emerson Village townhouses for $200,000 each after meeting certain income guidelines.
Located at 305 North Emerson it is the city’s first attainable housing development.
The townhomes were built thanks to private community donations, a construction loan, the Chelan Chamber of Commerce and grants from the city and county.
The ribbon cutting will be from 10 a.m. to noon and include a tour of one of the townhomes and a chance to see preliminary designs for a future affordable housing development on nine acres on Anderson Road that will have 35 to 40 homes.
