The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is reopening its public reception/lobby areas May 11 in Wenatchee and Chelan.
Non-commissioned staffing will be used to help the offices return to normal operations.
The new normal, at least.
There will be social distancing signage in lobbies and hallways.
The sheriff’s office closed its public reception areas March 18.
Sheriff Brian Burnett sent a letter to Gov. Jay Inslee this week supporting county commissioners’ request to allow Chelan County to move to Phase 2 of the governor’s phased return to normal operations.
Inslee is allowing 10 counties in the state to apply to go to Phase 2 based on having had no positive COVID-19 cases in three weeks, low numbers of infected and no deaths.
Chelan County does not meet that criteria.
The sheriff’s office does ask that anyone not feeling well postpone their visit to their offices.
