Chelan County Sheriff’s canine, Reno recently underwent surgery to repair a broken elbow suffered after being struck by a car while chasing a felony suspect. His partner, Deputy Aaron Shepard is now asking for the public’s help to defray the medical costs and has set up a gofundme account for donations. The surgeon had to place two screws into Reno’s elbow and bicep to hold the fracture in place. With “doggy” physical therapy the vet is confident that Reno will make a full recovery. The Sheriff’s Office relies heavily on donations to support the K-9 program.
