The Chelan County PUD will acquire the property where the historic Horan House was recently demolished.
At a Monday meeting, Commissioners approved the purchase of just over two acres of property next to the site of the PUD’s new service and operation center in Olds Station.
The Nevio and Elizabeth Tontini Living Trust agreed to sell the land for $854,211.
Commissioner Dennis Bolz says the high price tag concerned some ratepayers.
“If you take 2008 to 2019, you go up 5% a year and you compound it and you get double,” Bolz said.
Shared Services Director Dan Frazier said potential uses for the property include access to the Wenatchee River and Apple Capital Loop Trail.
