Cashmere girls advance to State Championship game


The Cashmere girls basketball team will play for the 1A State Championship Saturday night after a come-from-behind win over La Salle Friday 46-37.

Hailey Van Lith led a furious, second-half charge that saw Cashmere erase a 9-point deficit.

Van Lith scored a game-high 24-points. Riley Johnson finished with 8-points while Peyton Brown and Grace Erdmann each had 5 for Cashmere. The Bulldogs will play Lynden Christian in Saturday’s final after the Lyncs beat Freeman Friday 45-25.

It’s a rematch of the 2018 Championship when Lynden Christian edged Cashmere 50-48. The Bulldogs are trying to win the first girls state title in school history.
