Car Crash Causes North Wenatchee Power Outage

WENATCHEE- Chelan County PUD Crews have been working through the night to restore power to hundreds of customers on Wenatchee’s North end after a car crashed into a streetside transformer box.

Police say the driver, identified as 24-year-old Hyun Woo of Wenatchee was Southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car.

The vehicle struck the utility box and then hit a light pole. Power was knocked out for businesses on Wentachee Ave from N. Miller south to about Ninth Street Customers in the mobile home park behind the Red Lion Inn were also without power.

There was no estimated time for when electrical service would be fully restored.
