As a result of increasing fire danger in the national forest, beginning today (Fri) campfire restrictions go into effect in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Campfires will only be allowed in developed campgrounds, which usually have amenities such as metal fire rings, picnic tables and outhouses.
In all other areas, building, maintaining, attending or using a campfire or stove fire will be prohibited. That also includes a fire made from briquettes. Visit or call the appropriate ranger station to obtain information on specific campground restrictions.
