Traditional Cultural Plants of the Colville Tribe

October 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

The Confederated Colville Tribes (CCT) Traditional Cultural Plants Project began surveys for cultural plants on the 1.4 million acre Colville Reservation in 2013. Since then, the Colville have expanded their Traditional Cultural Plants Project to include surveys into the approximately 39 million acres of the CCT Traditional Territories, a herbarium, monitoring species for impacts of climate change and fire effects, and state-of-the-art mapping. In addition to mapping and monitoring food and medicine plants, the CCT have started to work with traditional cultural plants valued as sources of textiles, dyes, tool-making materials and more.  Come learn more about the Traditional Cultural Plants Project and the native plants traditionally used by the Confederated Colville Tribes!  This event is free and open to the public.
