First Day Snowshoe Hike

January 1 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

FREE

Join Park Staff for a brisk snowshoe hike around the frosty winter wonderland as you ring in the New Year in the great outdoors!

This is a fantastic hike for first-timers in snowshoes or adults with children. The hike is easy with varying views, plenty of opportunities for snowball fights and memorable photos! A limited number of snowshoes are available to rent, please call ahead to reserve a pair.

Meet at the North Reservation Booth. You will hike down to the river, gently proceed upriver to the North Beach, and then along the shore and back into the woods. Options to shorten your hike are available via the “Easy Street” trail, once you depart from the North Beach. A snack break and a group photo here is suggested!

Wear warm clothes and dress in layers. Bring snowshoes, water, snacks, hiking poles, gloves, cameras and an adventurous spirit!

Following the hike, hot cocoa and light snacks will be available for participants in the North Reservation Booth.

Sno-Park permits are not required for First Day Hike participants.
