Bridge work on Blewett Pass means a reduced speed limit near Swauk Campground

The Washington State Patrol is reminding motorists to slow down for the Boundary Bridge project on Blewett Pass.

The $4.5 million project near Swauk Campground, just south of the summit, involves construction of a bridge to replace an old culvert that created a fish passage barrier.

The speed limit Highway 97 has been reduced to 35 mph through the work area with a concrete jersey barrier separating the lanes of travel.

The reduced speed limit is in effect all day and night, every day of the week during the work, the State Patrol advices.
