Break in irrigation line delays water for much of East Wenatchee area

Already two weeks behind schedule because of weather issues, a break in a water line has delayed further the start of irrigation season for much of the East Wenatchee area.

The Greater Wenatchee Irrigation District says the broken 48-inch steel pipe is at Seventh and Union streets and could take several days to repair.

The district says people with controllers on automatic sprinkler systems might want to turn those off.

Residents who receive their irrigation water from the canal will not be affected.
