Mariners Bullpen Falters Late, Drop 9-5 Decision to Texas

The thing that has been so good for the Mariners this season, it’s bullpen, faltered last night in a 9-5 loss to the Texas Rangers…
James Pazos (PAUSE-ose) came on in relief of Felix Hernandez in the 6th with the bases loaded and nobody out and the Mariners leading 4-2. A wild pitch, passed ball and RBI single later, he’d given Texas a 5-4 lead. Seattle would tie it on a bases-loaded ground out in the 8th but give it right back in the 9th. Major League save-leader Edwin Diaz was shelled for four runs on three hits as the Rangers batted around.

Manager Scott Servais said it just wasn’t Seattle’s night on the mound…

Felix Hernandez has been having trouble so far this season getting out of the first inning unscathed. He allowed a solo home run to Shin-Soo Choo in the 1st last night, but settled down until problems in the 6th.

Servais said the start was much better for Hernandez and hoped the bullpen would hold on…

Segura went 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored in his return. Meanwhile, second baseman Dee Gordon is expected to be back in the lineup Thursday when Seattle wraps up the month and the 4-game series with Texas. Gordon has been on the 10-day disabled list with a broken big right toe.

Seahawks Expected to Sign WR Brandon Marshall

The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly ready to sign veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall…
The former Giants, Jets, Bears, Dolphins and Broncos wide receiver only played five games last year for New York suffering from an ankle injury. The 34-year old is the 23rd leading receiver in NFL history with 12,215-yards. He broke the news yesterday on his Instagram account…
Simply wearing a Seattle, 12th-Man jersey. It was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Marshall agreed to a one-year deal with Seattle that, with incentives, could reach $2 million.
