WENATCHEE- The primary election season is upon us as ballots begin arriving in mailboxes across the region. On this morning’s Wake Up Wenatchee Valley, Chelan County Auditor Skip Moore gave host Dan Kuntz his prediction on voter turnout.
“I think we’re going to probably be around 60-percent, not as high as I’d like to be,” Moore said. “The primaries tend not to be a lot of activity but we have some large and important races.”
Between the races for U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives with a large number of candidates, Moore said he hopes to see a large turnout.
Eligible voters who are not registered for the primary election can still do so by visiting their local auditor’s office by the last day of this month. Ballots must be dropped off or postmarked by election day- August 7th.
