Autopsy results confirm suicide in inmate death

WENATCHEE- Chelan County Coroner confirms the cause of death of Chelan County Regional Justice Center inmate Jeremy J. Lavender is suicide due to asphyxiation.

According to an email from Coroner Wayne Harries, an autopsy was performed Friday by Dr. Gina Fino on the 31-year-old inmate.

“The autopsy ruled out any injuries on his body except the ligature marks around his neck which are consistent with hanging,” Harris wrote in an email. “Manner of death is suicide.”

Blood samples were sent to the Washington State Patrol toxicology lab for testing and results are expected in six to eight weeks.
