AppleSox planning for baseball this summer

While the Mariners get ready for spring training next week in Arizona, closer to home, the Wenatchee AppleSox continue to make plans for a return to baseball after a year off.

AppleSox owner Jose Oglesby and general manager Allie Schank joined Eric Granstrom via zoom conference yesterday. Oglesby says the entire league is hopeful as it works towards a return to the diamond this summer…

Right-handers Taylor Guerrieri and JT Chargoi agreed to Minor League contracts with a big league invite this week, bringing Seattle’s Spring Training roster to 68, which leaves the club two spots left for other possible additions.

Guerrieri was a first-round draft pick in 2011 and a highly touted propect in the Rays’ organization. Chargois was a second-round selection by the Twins in 2012. Neither have quite lived up to their lofty hype but the Mariners are giving them a chance to prove themselves in Peoria.
