Earlier this month, NCWLIFE Channel’s Eric Granstrom sat down with each of the Top 10 Apple Blossom Royalty Candidates to get to know them a little better. Meet Olga Murillo…
Who is Olga?
Olga is the daughter of Ismael Murillo and Margarita Rodriguez. Olga is a member of Eastmont’s National Honors Society, Chamber Choir, and Swim and Dive Team. Olga has been a competitive swimmer for eight years with Wenatchee Valley’s local swim team, Velocity Swimming. Olga currently works as an Enrichment Instructor and Youth Development Staff at Pioneer Middle School; she was a lifeguard and swim instructor for the past summers. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. After graduation, Olga plans to attend a four-year university to major in psychology.
Olga’s favorite things
Olga’s favorite TV show is Glee and her favorite movie is Coco . Her favorite song is “Brave” by Sara Bareilles, and her favorite book is The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. Her parents most inspire her, and her most treasured keepsake is a plaque her High School coaches awarded her junior year.
Olga’s favorite thing to do in the Wenatchee Valley besides Apple Blossom is to volunteer at soup kitchens/ food banks, swim, get coffee with friends, and go out to eat at different local restaurants. Her proudest moment in life was when her high school relay went to state junior year and placed tenth. If Olga could trade places with anyone for a day, she would trade places with Katie Ledecky. Olga feels she should represent the Wenatchee Valley because she wants to give back to the community that has given her everything, has a passion for meeting new people, and feels she would be a great role model for young girls.
