Meet Top 10 Candidate Cassidy Cunningham

Candidate Cassidy Cunningham

Cassidy is the daughter of Jeff and JoAnn Cunningham. Cassidy is the vice president of Fellowship for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at the Wenatchee Valley College, a captain of her high school’s basketball team, and is an active member in the Math Engineering Science Achievement program at the college. Cassidy was also one of the leads in coordinating a community concert to raise money to buy supplies to build “blessing bags” for the homeless in the valley. She helped assemble and distribute over 200 bags. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, hiking, baking, and reading. After graduation, Cassidy plans to major in biochemistry and study medicine.

Cassidy’s favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy and her favorite movie is The Proposal. Her favorite song is“Tear in My Heart” by Twenty One Pilots and her favorite book is the series The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. She is most inspired by Nobel prize winner Gertrude B. Elion, and her most treasured keepsake is her postcard collection painted by Ali Hancock of Whiskey Jack Designs.

Cassidy’s favorite things to do in the Wenatchee Valley, besides Apple Blossom, are hiking in the Foothills and paddle boarding on the Columbia River. Her proudest moment in life was when she moved someone to tears while practicing the piano, which gave her the inspiration to overcome her stage fright. If Cassidy could trade places with anyone for a day, she would trade places with Taylor Swift. Cassidy feels she should represent the Wenatchee Valley because she has strong moral ethics as a role model, and would love the opportunity to be a mentor to young girls and boys. She would give back to her community by serving with passion and grace. Cassidy was born and raised in the Valley and understands the importance of family, friends, and community.
