Women veterans will be honored at the Alatheia Riding Center in Wenatchee this Saturday as part of Women Veterans Day.

Dee Ann De Angelo, who heads up the Wenatchee Lady Veterans Group, said beginning at 2 p.m. there will be a small presentation, snacks, door prizes and time working with horses.

She said so far eight women veterans have indicated they are coming and they are hoping for more.

Women Veterans Day was first celebrated in 2018 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, which was signed into law by President Harry Truman.

The act allowed women to become regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
