Much to the pleasure of skiers, Mission Ridge was one of the sporadic areas in the region to receive heavy snow today.
It came just in time for a day-after-Thanksgiving opening for the ski and board resort on the edge of Wenatchee.
The resort will open at 9 a.m. Friday and stay open until 4 p.m., with the same hours Saturday and Sunday.
Chair 1 and the Pika Peak Rope Tow will be operating, with additional chairlifts to open as conditions allow, Mission Ridge reported.
It’s the seventh time in the past eight years that Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort has had a Thanksgiving weekend opening.
Crews had spent the past several days making snow on the mountain before getting a last-minute boost in the form of almost a foot of snow from Mother Nature.
