East Wenatchee police say a man broke into a bank branch on Valley Mall Parkway early Thursday. However, no bank funds were ever at risk, because shortly after that, the suspect passed out on a couch in the lobby.
An alarm summoned police to the Washington Trust building about 2:38 a.m., where they found the 32-year-old man inside.
He had apparently used a rock to shatter the glass of the front doors and enter the lobby.
Multiple police agencies responded to the scene, only to find the man heavily intoxicated.
They said after raising his hands to surrender, he fell asleep and began snoring loudly.
He faces possible charges of second-degree burglary.
