The waiting game continues in Leavenworth for a ruling on the future of the controversial adventure theme park. Park opponents turned out in big numbers at last week’s public hearing to share their concerns about the possible impacts on traffic, parking and noise. Duane Goehner with the group, Friends of Leavenworth, said he was encouraged by the large turnout.

The proposed 10-acre park would include an alpine coaster and other attractions on a hillside at Icicle Road and Highway 2. After numerous objections last summer, developer John Sutherland withdrew, then resubmitted his application. With numerous mitigation requirements, it has cleared most city and state environmental hurdles.
