A rather quick weather warm up today as a high pressure ridge is rapidly building over the Western U.S. The cloud cover today is the only thing that will keep temperatures from really peaking and possibly breaking records. Temperatures today will almost certainly be the warmest of the spring so far, by several degrees in some locations. Northcentral Washington can expect mostly cloudy skies today, light winds with afternoon high temperatures into the mid and upper 70’s.
For Thursday, temperatures will crash 10 to 15 degrees over today`s readings in some areas as the warm ridge of high pressure moves east of our area and allows a cooler westerly flow to take over our weather. So, once again expect mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions tomorrow with northwest winds pickling up in the afternoon between 15 and 25 mph, high temperatures in the mid 60’s.
Friday’s weather will be fairly quiet with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s.
A cold front is expected late Friday into early Saturday bringing a round of widespread shower chances to the region. This weekend the Wenatchee Valley can expect mostly cloudy skies each day with a 50% chance of showers on Saturday and 40% chance of showers Sunday morning, afternoon high temperatures will be around 70 on Saturday cooling back into the mid 60’s on Sunday. Afternoon winds will be breezy through the lower Central Columbia Basin with gusts into the low 30s.
A weak ridge is expected to fill in behind the weather front with some drier and cooler air with it on Monday and Tuesday. Expect mostly sunny skies each day with afternoon high temperatures in the mid to upper 60’s.
