Blewett Pass blocked for about 4 hours after car hits semi

Traffic on Blewett Pass was blocked for almost four hours late Tuesday after a northbound driver attempted to pass a disabled semi near the summit, lost control and hit another semi.

The driver of the semi that was hit had stopped near the southbound shoulder to help the other trucker, who was stopped in the northbound lane, the Washington State Patrol said.

Jawn Angus, 42, of Seattle, who was driving a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Both his vehicle and the semi, which was driven by Travis Breckenridge, 41, of Waterville, had to be towed from the scene. The accident happened about 11:15 p.m.
