We’ll start off with a look at the Les Schwab Prep Basketball Scoreboard from last night…
In boys basketball, Chelan won its home opener 83-43 over visiting Cle Elum. The Goats were led by the 20-points from Cade Christopherson. Connor Wilson and Quinn Stamps each chipped in 16-points apiece for Chelan. Coach Jeff Pearl said after the ballgame, “I thought we had good energy to start the game. Our guys battled hard and really spread the ball well offensively. Our guys are happy to win their home opener.”

Also last night, it was Manson edging Entiat 51-44. On the girl’s side, Wenatchee ran into trouble at Pasco, falling to the Bulldogs 67-40. And Entiat had no trouble with Manson, downing the Trojans 47-26.

Wenatchee and Eastmont Bowlers Pick Up Road Wins

The Eastmont and Wenatchee girls bowling teams were on the road in Yakima yesterday for non-league matches…
Wenatchee swept Ellensburg at Minda Lanes 4-0, outscoring the Bulldogs 1,837 to 1,178. High scorers for Coach Jeff Leavitt’s squad were Hannah Johnson with a 217, Kylah Hankins with a 233 and Jessica Holbrook with a 193.

Eastmont also posted a victory yesterday over Selah 3-1. Coach Christy Binge tells us her high scorers were Alivia Ellington with a 224, Dai-Lynn Thomas with a 211, and Alicia Hastings with a 204 and 201.

Coming up on the prep schedule for tonight, in girls basketball…
Waterville-Mansfield is on the road at Brewster while Cascade travels to Naches Valley. Both games start at 6 o’clock.

In boys basketball tonight…
Cascade is at Naches Valley at 7:30. The Shockers take on the Bears in Brewster at 7:30. And, here LIVE on the NCWLIFE Channel, Eric Granstrom will be courtside as Eastmont hosts Cashmere, also at 7:30.

Busy Basketball Saturday Features Cashmere & Kings

On the schedule for Saturday, first in girls basketball…
Columbia is at Entiat at 1. Manson travels to Lake Roosevelt at 1:30. Eastmont’s on the west side to face Bothell at 2. It’s a 3 o’clock tip in Cashmere where the Bulldogs host Kings. Waterville-Mansfield is on the road for the second-straight day, this time at Republic at 4:30. Wenatchee travels to Southridge with a 5:45 tip time. And Granger hosts the Chelan girls at 6pm.

In boys basketball tomorrow…
Entiat hosts Columbia at 2. Manson plays at Lake Roosevelt at 4. Republic hosts Waterville-Mansfield at 6. It’s a 7:30 start time for Chelan at Granger and Wenatchee at Southridge.

Eastmont Hosts Ladycat Kickoff Classic Wrestling

There are a few wrestling tournaments for local teams tomorrow…
The Wenatchee boys will be at the Kennewick Invite at 10am. Eastmont’s boys team is in Yakima for the Davis Invite at 10. And the Caribou Trail League’s Chelan, Cashmere and Cascade are in Omak at 10am. In girl’s wrestling, Eastmont hosts the Ladycat Kickoff Classic with Cashmere, Wenatchee and eight other schools, starting at 10 o’clock.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline Battles for State 1B Title Saturday

The Fall Sports Season in Washington wraps up this weekend with the Gridiron Classic in the Tacoma Dome…
It begins today at 4 o’clock with the 2B championship between Kalama and Napavine. Then at 7:30 tonight, it’s O’Dea and Eastside Catholic to determine the 3A title.  Tomorrow, the 1A championship kicks off at 10am between Newport and Colville. It’s followed at 1 by the 2A title game between Lynden and Hockinson. Almira-Coulee-Hartline faces Odessa for the 1B championship at 4. Then at 7:30 it’s Lake Stevens and Union for the 4A title game. Wenatchee Wild Try for 5th Consecutive Win Tonight

The Wenatchee Wild are on the road this weekend starting tonight in Salmon Arm…
The Wild and Silverbacks drop the puck at the Shaw Centre at 7 o’clock as Wenatchee tries for its 5th win in a row. Tomorrow, Wenatchee skates at the Kal Tire Place against Vernon at 6 o’clock.

After Downing Cougs, Huskies Play for Pac-12 Title

The 11th-ranked Washington Huskies take on the 17th ranked Utah Utes tonight for the Pac-12 Championship…
They’ll kick it off at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California at 5 o’clock on FOX. Coming up tomorrow, the one double-a playoffs begin for Eastern Washington University when the Eagles host Nicholls at Roos Field at 2 o’clock.

Gonzaga Prepares for Creighton Tomorrow

In college basketball this weekend…
It’s a battle in Seattle tonight as the Washington Women travel across town to play Seattle University at 6. #1-ranked Gonzaga’s without two starters tomorrow as they’ll face Creighton at 11 o’clock on FOX. The Washington State women host Boise State tomorrow afternoon at 1. Eastern Washington plays at Seattle University at 5 in men’s play while the Cougar men are at New Mexico State tomorrow night at 6.

On Sunday, it’s a doubleheader at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion as the Washington women host George Mason at Noon, followed by the Husky men and UC Santa Barbara at 5.

Seahawks Welcome Sherman and 49ers Sunday

CenturyLink Field will be jumping Sunday afternoon when former Seahawk Richard Sherman and the San Francisco 49ers will be in town to face Seattle…
Wide receiver Doug Baldwin made headlines yesterday, saying he felt Sherman was mistreated in how he was ousted by the Seahawks last year…

Baldwin was also referring to former teammate Jermain Kearse. The Seahawks and 49ers kickoff Sunday at 1:25 on FOX.
