All Big 9 Offense

The Big 9 and CTL are out with All League Picks

WENATCHEE, WA – Now that the football season is over in the Big 9, they’ve handed out their all-league selections…
All Big 9
Congratulations to Eastmont’s Caelen Massey, voted the Columbia Basin Big Nine League’s Most Valuable Player. In addition, Wildcat Coach Mike Don is the coach of the year and the Eastmont front is the defensive line of the year.
All Big 9 Offense
1st team selections on offense included: Eastmont’s Carson Paine on the oh-line and Wenatchee’s Nathan Blauman at running back and Riley Kunz at tight end.
2nd team selections on offense: Eastmont’s Carson Talley at running back; Tanner Nelson at tight end; and Andrew Snyder and Alan Ortega as offensive lineman. Also selected was Wenatchee’s Darius Carlson at wide receiver.
All Big 9 Defense 1st Team
1st team selections on defense included: Eastmont’s Wesley McIlwaine at defensive back; Jaron Schneider at linebacker; and Dominic Torres on the D-line. Wenatchee’s first-teamers were Darius Carlson at defensive back; Eamon Haugan (Aymon How-gen) at linebacker; and Ronin Haynes at defensive line.
All Big 9 2nd Team
Making the 2nd team defense in the Big 9 were: Eastmont’s Oscar Calvillo at defensive back; Jeremy Gregorson at linebacker; and Christian Flores at defensive line. Wenatchee’s Dalton Thomas was a defensive back while teammates Jaden Christoferson at linebacker and Chase Loidhamer on the defensive line were also selected.

Eastmont’s Wesley McIlwaine was also a first-team selection as a special teams return specialist.

Cascade Players Lead List of All Caribou Trail League

The All Caribou Trail League football selections are out as well…
All CTL Offense
1st team offense includes: Cascade’s Eric Rosario and Hunter Reinhart on the oh-line and the Kodiak’s Jose Valdez at running back. Isaiah Dayton is a first teamer for Cascade at wide receiver while Cashmere’s Mason Landdeck and Brooks Elliott are also 1st teamers at wide out.
All CTL Defense
1st team selections on the defensive side of the ball include: Cascade’s Jose Valdez on the line and Eric Rosario at linebacker. Cashmere’s Dylan Gross was a 1st teamer at linebacker while Sam Dotson and Ryan Cooper were selected as defensive backs. The Bulldog’s Javi Reyna was picked as a first team special teams selection as a returner. Chelan’s Skyler Gordon was a 1st team selection at defensive end.

Eastmont Girls Host Sunnyside at Eastmont Lanes

On the prep schedule for today in girls bowling…

Sunnyside is at Eastmont this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Wenatchee’s off until Thursday when it travels to Davis.

NCWLIFE Channel Preparing for Winter Sports Season

We are getting closer to solidifying our Winter Sports Broadcast schedule on the NCWLIFE Channel. Right now, we’re looking at about 24 sports broadcasts on NCWLIFE between November 21st and February 8th including boys and girls basketball, boys and girls wrestling, and girls bowling. The first we’ll cover on tape-delay will be Eastmont and Wenatchee girls bowling next Wednesday. Our first basketball game will be Friday, November 30th when Eastmont hosts the Cashmere boys at 7:30. We’ll let you know when we have the whole lineup confirmed very soon.

Seahawks Put Rams in Rear View to Prep for Packers

The Seahawks have little time to dwell on the past as they prepare for a Thursday night game with the Green Bay Packers this week. Seattle Coach Pete Carroll, in his Monday meeting with the press, said he liked most of what he saw in Sunday’s loss to the Rams, other than the outcome…


Seattle is 4-and-5 while the Packers are 4-4-and-1. Carroll says the two teams are in a similar boat and expects Green Bay to come in ready Thursday night…

The Packers and Seahawks kick off Thursday night at 5:20 on FOX.

Mariners Respond to Allegations of Racism/Discrimination

The Mariners are having to defend itself after allegations of racism and discrimination after a former employee took to social media to air her concerns…

Seattle’s former director of high performance in the baseball operations department, Lorena Martin, Tweeted yesterday saying general manager Jerry Dipoto, manager Scott Servais and director of player development Andy McKay had called Latino players “lazy, dumb and stupid, especially the Dominicans.”
Mariners Response
The Mariners responded today saying, “While it is our policy to not comment on personnel issues, we do feel it is important to respond to the outrageous, false claims made by her today on social media…The Mariners categorically deny that any member of our management or coaching staff made the racist remarks…” Now, Major League Baseball is investigating.
